 Businesses throughout the South East, including those in Thames Gateway Kent, can take advantage of grants available through the Grant for Business Investment (GBI) scheme. Funded by SEEDA, the South East England Development Agency, GBI is delivered by Finance South East and is aimed at helping businesses moving into or expanding within the region, which stretches from Milton Keynes to the Isle of Wight and across Kent. Companies looking to expand, increase their productivity or introduce a new product into the market could qualify for up to 20 per cent of the eligible capital costs of their project. All grants are awarded on a discretionary basis and the level of potential assistance depends upon company size, location, eligible project expenditure, number of skilled jobs created and project quality.
