| Bluewater takes three top awards |

Chamber member Bluewater Shopping Centre swept the board taking two gold and a silver award at the ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centres) Solal Marketing Awards.The centre fought against 152 entrants from across 18 countries and was recognised as being one Europe’s leading shopping centres. The ceremony took place in Portugal’s capital city Lisbon and the centre’s stunning two gold awards were for the Business to Business and Public Relations categories and for the ‘Bluewater. No Comparison’ trade campaign and the Jenson Button/Virgin Media Speedweek50 event, respectively. The silver award was given for Bluewater’s unique apprenticeship scheme in the Cause Related Marketing category. The centre has a long history of training people and during its construction worked closely with Bovis Lendlease. Many of those trained under that scheme have remained working on the centre’s maintenance. All of the campaigns were devised and implemented by Bluewater and Klein O’Rorke, a brand-led communication agency specialising in the property sector. Bluewater marketing chief David Wilkinson said: “The ICSC Solals are a highly respected and very influential awards programme and we are extremely proud to have been recognised in three such highly competitive categories. This is a fantastic achievement for the whole team that worked on these campaigns including our agency, Klein O’Rorke.” Bluewater now qualifies automatically for entry into the ICSC Maxi Awards which recognise excellence in shopping centre marketing across the world. |
