GUEST SPEAKER - Mr John Tunnicliff - Kent County Council
An overview of procurement at KCC including what and how KCC procures for its main categories of spend and its approach to ensuring competition.  BIG aims to significantly boost the county's economony through this initiative by raising awareness of public sector funding, contracts, bidding and collaborative projects. There will be ample opportunity to network with businesses and to learn about business innovation partnering opportunities with knowledge based partners such as the University of Greenwich. 
KEY OBJECTIVES OF BIG:-
*  To bring together professional businesses and establish a regional collaboration platform for the Manufacturing, Engineering & Technology and Creative & Media Sectors
*  To support local companies in the exploration of new opportunities for public sector funding and contracts, commercial ventures and collaborative research & development programmes
*  To help generate successful new opportunities such as the one slinked to the London 2012 opportunities - both in the run up to 2012 and from its proposed legacy.
*   To offer expertise on how to bid for contracts as well a providing information on opportunities as they develop
